Woman fends off bag snatcher on Liverpool Road.

A woman suffered facial injuries after a man tried to steal her handbag in Irlam last week.



The attack happened at around 6.50 a.m, Monday the 1st September on Liverpool Road as the 39 year old was on her way to the shops.

A man on a mountain bike approached her from behind and tried to snatch her handbag. As she resisted, the man attempted to cut the straps of the handbag which caused slash wounds to her shoulders, face and upper back.

The offender is described as white, 5f 6in tall, of slim build wearing a blue shiny anorak and around 18 years old.
