Rochdale Mayfield Mustangs U11s

match date: Sun 9th May

posted by: P Elliott - Monday 10th May, 2010

The under 11s put together an impressive performance as they stood toe to toe with the visitors from Rochdale in a highly entertaining game at Lord Street on Sunday morning.

Although the Mustangs were always in front they were made to work very hard for their victory by a solid Rhinos defence.

Lewis Busuttil grabbed a try for Cadishead in the first half and debutant Chris Wareing ran forty meters for a fine try which he converted himself in the second half.

Strong running William Ridge was awarded the Rhinos man of the match closely followed by Ben Smith, David Williams and Harrison Tyrell, however the whole side can take credit for a great display much appreciated by the coaches and large crowd.

The under 11s travel to Saddleworth Rangers next Sunday and will hope to continue their good form.

Under 13s – Cadishead Rhinos 22 Burtonwood Bulldogs 48

The under 13s competed well against an impressive Bulldogs side and held their own for large parts of the game with both sides playing some free flowing rugby.

Man of the match, prop forward Josh Percival impressed for the Rhinos as did lively half back Kieran Hope, strong running Kyle Ogden and new boys Declan Potter and Eathan Black.

The under 13s next game is at home to Latchford Albion on Sunday 23rd May, 11.30 kick off.
